SERVICES:

Relaxation Massage / Swedish Massage

Over time, the body builds up unhealthy amounts of stress hormones in response to work deadlines, traffic jams, relationship problems and more. These hormones can cause physical problems, like digestive issues, headaches and sleeplessness. Relaxation massage decreases the amount of stress hormones in the body, leaving clients feeling completely relaxed and rested, even after the session is over. The techniques used during the massage trigger changes in the brain's chemistry, resulting in reduced stress and an improved mood.

Deep Tissue Massage

Deep tissue massage targets deep layers of connective tissue and muscle. Using slow strokes to apply pressure, the massage focuses on areas of pain and tension. Injuries or chronic muscle tension can cause adhesions, more commonly referred to as knots, to form in the tendons, ligaments and muscles. These adhesions are rigid and painful and can block circulation, impede movement and cause inflammation. Deep tissue massage breaks down the adhesions to restore natural movement and reduce pain.

Trigger Point Massage Therapy

Trigger point pain is one of the most common ailments which affect the muscles. However, it is also one of the most painful considering the pain does not occur in just one area, but can cause tingling, numbness, and other discomforts in areas distant from the trigger point. To know if trigger point therapy is needed, one must know what a trigger point is. A trigger point, also commonly referred to as trigger sites or muscles knots, is an incredibly tender spot in the body, and more commonly within the muscle or muscles, which will cause shooting pain in other areas of the body when stimulated. Trigger points make themselves apparent in viewable knots in tight bands of muscle fibers. Because of how incredibly tender these sites are, many people feel that the long lasting benefits of trigger point therapy are not worth the temporary pain which occurs during treatment. This is hardly the case, though, considering an untreated trigger point is likely to cause spreading pain and future problems with balance and correct posture.

Benefits:

One of the main advantages of trigger point therapy (when compared to various other forms of massage therapy used to treat pain by working all areas of the body), is that it works very specific points of the body where the pain is occurring in order to provide the best and closest treatment for the pain.

Post Trigger Point Treatment:

Once the trigger point has been removed, no matter how many visits it has taken, it is incredibly important for the guest to remain hydrated. The breaking down of the trigger point takes all of the toxins which have built up in these areas and releases them into the blood stream. Without proper hydration, it is likely that the toxins will make the guest sick. Drinking plenty of water and other healthy beverages allows for the toxins to wash out of the blood stream in a short period of time, allowing the guest to continue their lives both toxin and trigger point free.
